The K-Rend Silicone TC colour chart
These are the 20 standard colours on K-Rend's Silicone Thin Coat colour chart. Silicone TC is the fine-grained, water-repellent finish used for most modern re-rendering, including over sound pebbledash or old render.
| Whites and off-whites | Warm neutrals | Greys and stone | Colour accents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pure White | Linen | Granite | Mint |
| Ash White | Biscuit | Causeway | Rosemary |
| Limestone White | Wheaten | Pearl | Sky |

| Golden | Mocha | Sunflower | |
| Light Bronze |
The grouping is ours, to make the chart easier to scan. K-Rend lists the colours on one chart and notes that the colours shown are representative. Product samples and special colours are available on request. See sources.
The K1 scraped range
K-Rend K1 is a through-coloured scraped render applied in one thicker coat, similar to other monocouche renders. It also comes in 20 standard colours. White, ivory and pewter grey are the shades most builders' merchants keep in stock; the rest are ordered in. Because K1 is scraped back to a soft, matt texture, the same colour name can look slightly lighter and chalkier than the silicone version. Compare like with like. See silicone vs monocouche.
Choosing a K-Rend colour for a Surrey house
- Look at the street. On estate roads in Farnborough, Woking or Merrow, a warm off-white or soft grey usually sits more comfortably than a brilliant white or a strong accent colour.
- Think about dirt. Pure White shows traffic dirt and algae fastest. Ash White, Antique White and Pearl are more forgiving.
- Consider the windows and roof. White uPVC windows can make cream shades look yellow. Anthracite windows suit greys such as Pearl, Granite and Causeway.
- Respect older houses. Period and rural homes, and Bargate stone settings, often suit stone and warm neutrals such as Linen, Biscuit and Wheaten.
- Go easy on dark colours. Darker colours absorb more heat and are harder to finish evenly across a large wall.
- Check the rules. In a conservation area or under an Article 4 direction, a noticeable colour change can need planning permission. Guildford has 40 conservation areas and Rushmoor 9. See planning permission for rendering.
How to sample properly
- Narrow it down to two or three colours from the chart.
- Ask for real product samples, not printed swatches. Ask for them at your survey.
- Look at them on your own wall, in daylight, on both a sunny and a shaded elevation.
- Look again on a dull day. Render colours shift noticeably with light.
- Confirm the exact colour name and product in your written quote.

Questions people ask
How many colours does K-Rend come in?
K-Rend Silicone TC has 20 standard colours and K-Rend K1 scraped render has 20 standard colours. Special colours are available on request.
What is the most popular K-Rend colour?
On Surrey houses we most often see soft whites and warm off-whites such as Ash White, Antique White, Limestone White and Linen, and light greys such as Pearl. Brilliant whites show dirt quickly on busy roads.
Can K-Rend match an existing render colour?
Often, yes. K-Rend offers special colours using the NCS system. Matching an aged existing render is harder than matching a sample, because the old render will have weathered.
Do I need permission to change my render colour?
Not usually outside protected areas. In a conservation area or under an Article 4 direction, a noticeable change in colour can need planning permission. Check with the council first.
Does K-Rend ever need painting?
No. Silicone TC and K1 are coloured right through, so the colour does not need repainting. Silicone finishes can be cleaned if they pick up dirt or algae.
